Hello family! I hope the fast this week has been a blessing for you as much as it was for me! God really showed Himself strong in my life and I'm so thankful for the growth that I experienced. Moreover, for the weights that were removed. Hallelujah!!! Glory to God! Nevertheless, the only way that those weights will stay off is if I allow Jesus to keep them off. Therefore its going to require some obedience on my end as well as keeping my eyes on our Saviour as I give the battle to Him to fight. Its going to take denying of self daily, MUCH prayer, and STAYING in the Word to name a few. Indeed the scripture text for this last day was very fitting. Proverbs 1:7 - "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Family I pray that I never find myself on the latter end of that text. I pray the same for you all as well.
One of the most important lessons that we can learn from this week is that it takes a broken spirit and a contrite heart to seek help from the only One that can help us get freedom from sin, healing from the past pain and hurt, and wisdom where there is none. When fasting, God always trys to show us who we are in comparison to who He is. And if we humble ourselves we will truly see that He is the way, the truth, and the life. He must be our barometer, not something we cooked up, or standards that someone else created. Its amazing how the world is always trying to dictate how we should live. Well thank God He already has that covered ;-) But its up to us to make that choice. I pray that we learn to listen to and obey Him more. And so family, as we depart from this fast, let us not depart from the God who created fasting. Let us not depart from the God who created us to be like Him. Let us not depart from the only true, wise God who is faithful unto us and loves us like no other. Let us not depart from the God who lifts the weights from our lives. God bless you my brothers and sisters. Stay tuned for the next fasting group!
